 Metrex, enti di area vasta europei a confronto sulle politiche territoriali

Dal 18 al 21 maggio la sede di corso Inghilterra della Città metropolitana di Torino ospiterà la Spring Conference di Metrex, un’occasione per mettere a confronto le politiche territoriali della grandi aree urbane. Metrex infatti sta per METRopolitan Exchangeed, è un’associazione internazionale senza scopo di lucro che riunisce alcune delle principali regioni, province e aree metropolitane europee per lo scambio di informazioni e di esperienze sul governo del territorio. La rete incentra le proprie attività sui temi della pianificazione strategica, territoriale e delle infrastrutture, con un’attenta considerazione dei fattori sociali ed economici, per offrire il contributo della dimensione metropolitana alla programmazione europea.

L’attenzione nei confronti dell’attività di Metrex risale negli anni: infatti già nel 1996 l’allora Provincia di Torino entrò a far parte dell’associazione e nel 2000 ospitò la Conferenza di Metrex; l’evento che si terrà a Torino quest’anno è il secondo a cui la Città metropolitana partecipa e il primo, in presenza, dopo la pandemia.

Il programma è articolato su tre giornate. In particolare, la seconda giornata, giovedì 19 maggio, aperta da un breve intervento del Vicesindaco metropolitano di Torino, sarà l’occasione per un focus sul territorio metropolitano: da una visione dì insieme sullo “stato di salute” dell’area metropolitana si entrerà nel dettaglio delle politiche di governance, sulle esperienze di rigenerazione urbana com’è PinQua e sulle politiche di mobilità sostenibile.

Nella giornata di venerdì 20 maggio saranno le Città metropolitane italiane a portare la loro esperienza sulle possibilità offerte dal Pnrr per lasciare spazio poi alle altre Città metropolitane europee per un ragionamento sul ruolo degli enti di area vasta nell’agenda dell’Unione europea.
